Mahmood Ashrafi

Mahmood H.Ashrafi 84 ,of 1802 Therrell Farms Rd, Waxhaw NC 28173 Passed away at Carolina Medical Center Main on Monday February 16, 2015, after a fall he took two weeks prior. He was born on June 10, 1931 in Isfahan Iran. He was the son of Heydar Ali and Nosrat Ashrafi. He was the 5th of 6 children. He graduated from Iranian Police Academy in Tehran in 1953 and started a 27 year successful career as a loyal police lieutenant and went on to become 3 star Colonel. He was forced to retire after the unfortunate and horrific revolution in Iran in 1979. He migrated with his family to United States in 1986 to join his oldest son there. He was survived by his wife of 54 years Mahin Farahmand and 3 sons Ali (Al) and wife Hellen, Parviz (Perry) and wife Kathy and Behrouz (Berry) Ashrafi. Also 7 grandchildren, Sara, Syma, Adrian,Armin, Kaylan,Ariana and Samyra. He also has two surviving sisters in Iran Aghdas Soltani and Iran Shokohi and had 1 brother and 2 sisters that predeceased him. He loved his home land, Iran and thought of it always and was concerned about its people and their suffrage under its current regime and Iran’s future. He liked classic Iranian music, playing cards, doing cross word puzzles, gardening and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and family. Friends and family may attend his funeral service, luncheon and closing ceremony on Sunday February 22,2015 starting 11:45 AM to 4:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park 5716 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212.
