

Born in Shirley, Indiana on July 4, 1941 to Levera Mae Burd (Catt) and Lerue Burd. She attended Butler University. As a young person she was involved in dance and music, playing both the flute and piano. She was popular and well-liked by her peers and active in her churches, especially singing in the church choir. Marcia valued the importance of giving back to the community and instilled these values in those around her. She spent countless hours volunteering for local faith-based and secular organizations. But, Marcia had a special interest in mentoring and tutoring children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Levera and Lerue Burd and her brother, Myron.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony J. Triana who she was married to for 39 years. She also leaves behind her children, Deborah Paine, Theresa Klemons, Robert Triana, Annie Stokesberry, Anthony Triana, Jr. and Jill Triana as well as 12 grand-children, 4 great grand-children, her sisters Rita Littmann of Palos Heights, IL and Brenda Fiorini of Tinley Park, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

Her family will greet friends on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2012, from 6-8pm at the McEwen-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC. A memorial service will begin at 10am on Monday, Jan. 7, 2012, at the McEwen-Pineville Chapel. Reverend Chris Payne will officiate. A reception will follow Marcia’s service in the funeral home.
