Margaret Joyce Snavely

Graveside services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park for family and friends. Date to be determined.

Mrs. Snavely was born in Stanley County, daughter of the late Henry Lee and Eunice Joyce. She was a graduate of Elon College and was an executive secretary and office manager with several firms before being associated with McDonald Realty Company for over 20 years. After retirement, she served as a volunteer with American Red Cross and Presbyterian Hospital. She was active in her church and was a member of the Adult Bible Class and United Methodist Women. She was a craft enthusiast, loved traveling extensively through all 50 states and 17 foreign countries; and she enjoyed playing golf up until her 90’s.

Mrs. Snavely was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert Alexander Snavely, sisters Mary Boyd Dowdy and Maysie Thomas, and brother Henry Lee Joyce, Jr.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Celia Johnson- and Fred Littenberg of Rock Hill; daughter Beth Timson of Durham; 3 grandsons, Michael, Donald and Jonathan Bivens; 5 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
