Margie loved her life and shared it with all those she knew. She lost her mother when she was only 15 years old, and as the oldest, took on the responsibility of raising her brothers and sisters. She went on to serve in the United States Army as a nurse during World War II and always put everyone she knew ahead of herself. She gave her life to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and would pray for those in need with a song "Peace, peace, wonderful peace coming down from the Father above. Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray in fathomless billows of love."
She is preceded in death by her husband Keith Wallace Martin, her brothers and sisters, Beck Armstrong, Dub Cook, Calvin Cook, Caroline Owen, Anne Beaver, Henry Cook, Ronnie Cook and Glenn Cook. She is survived by her brother and sister Don Cook and Linda Apple; her loving twin daughters Vivian Lou Martin and Vickie Lee Brown along with her husband Michael Brown. She was the proud grandmother of Joshua Brown, Jason Brown and his wife April Watson and Jacob Brown. She had five great-grandchildren, Lucas and Mason Brown along with Jackson, Julian and Charlotte Brown.
The funeral service will be held Noon, Friday, May 24, 2024 in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte, NC with the Reverend Frank Jolly officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
