

The joy of Mark’s life was his family. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sarah Bethke; one daughter, Jessica Zondor, and three grandchildren, Zane, Freya, and Evelyn. He also survived by his mother: Barbara; four siblings: Richard (Kathy) Zondor, Nancy (Dennis) Ross, Lisa (Rob) Pomorski, and Matthew (Paula) Zondor; nieces and nephews: Sarah (Nick) Hoffman, Matthew (Chelsea) Ross, Amy (Paul) Dobroveanu, Maggie (David) Knoerzer, Emily Pomorski, Nathan Pomorski, Tyler Zondor, Hayle Zondor, Peyton Zondor, Edie (Stuart) McCroskey; eight great nieces and nephews: Charlotte, Amelia, and Henry Hoffman, Will, Sam, Annie Dobroveanu, Graham and Magnolia Knoerzer: parents-in-law Chet and Sue Bethke; brother-in-law Robert (Page) Bethke; sister-in-law Susan Bethke (Don Kyzar). Mark was preceded in death by his father Thomas Zondor.
Born August 11,1954 in Chicago, Mark was surprise Baby B of twins. His mother has said many times that it took quite a few days to name him. Growing up Mark and his twin, Rich were inseparable. They played sports of all kinds together and terrorized the block with neighbors Fritz and Bruce Rather.
Mark worked 35 years in banking with Bank of America and its predecessors in Finance. He worked in Chicago, Clayton, California and finally in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Family will receive friends at 1pm on Saturday, October 4, 2025 with a service to follow in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service- Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road. After the service, a reception will follow at McEwen.
