To say you were special is an under statement!  I knew when you and Ed started to date, there was something special in the making and sure enough, as I expected, the two of you united in marriage.
I reminisce about the times I spent with you and Ed together and how lucky I was to have known you and realized how lucky I was to enjoy your compassion, laughter, insight and intellect.

MARY FRANCES (FRANKIE) DUCHESNEY

Mary Frances Duchesney age 70, passed away Monday January 3, 2011 at Liberty Nursing Center in Charlotte, NC. She was born July 10, 1940 to the late  
Ernest and Rosa Helms. She was an avid reader and spent most of her time enjoying a good book. She also had the love for the Opera and classical music. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved family get-togethers. She was a loving and devoted wife and a wonderful sister and aunt. She had the world’s strongest hugs. Everyone who knew her will always remember the powerful hugs. Surviving are her husband Clement Edward Duchesney of the home: One brother, Ernest Van Helms and his wife BJ: two sisters, Nancy Cox and her husband Jerry, Diana McMillian: two sister-in-laws, Susan Straughn and her husband Lance, Lynn Marie Conder and her husband Mike. Seven nieces and three nephews and her beloved dog Shiloh, A funeral service will be held Friday January 7, 2011 at Wilson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ron Helms and Reverend Fleet Kirtpatrick officiating.Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family would like to send special thanks to Liberty Nursing Center for the outstanding care and love they gave her. She loved you all. A very special thanks go to her niece Tammy Freeman for all her love and devotion. She was her rock during her time of need and Frankie loved you more than life. You were such a joy to know and to work with.  Your smile sparkled as much as your beautiful eyes.  I can remember only happy memories shared with you and the Cardinal group. You were a class act.  My heart smiles just thinking about you.

Sis, please forgive me as I was unable to grant your last wish as far as the music for your services are concerned, but it was out of my hands and I had no control. But I made a promise to you and even though it was not exactly as you requested, you got your music anyway. I went back to the cemetery & I turned my car speakers up as loud as they would go and Amazing Grace by Il Divo blasted across the cemetery and also Nessun Dorma with Pavarotti. You did not have the funeral chapel listening to this, but you had everyone buried in Sunset Memory Garden hearing it and they knew who requested it. I will never hear these without thinking of you. I will also remember the tears we shed when you spent the night with me & I played Amazing Grace on my computer...so powerful. I love you sis and you will always be in my heart and I will see you again one day soon.

TO MY FAMILY:

We will miss our beautiful sister, but we can take comfort in knowing she is now in a better place. No more sorrow, heartache or pain...she is now at peace. She is in the presence of our Heavenly Father & I know Mom, Dad & John has welcomed her with open arms.
She would want us to remember all the laughs we shared together and not feel sad as she is complete now and can walk again and pain free. Praise God. She knew without a doubt that she was loved by us all and she took that love with her. Tammy, thank you for all you did for her. You were her rock and she loved you more than life. God will give us strength and comfort in the days ahead and he will take care of us. Just remember we will see her again one day. Sis, I love you with all my heart and you will be missed forever.
