Michael Mark Byrne

Michael Mark Byrne, 58, of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. He was born August 4, 1957 in Johnstown, PA to the late Michael Wilber Byrne and Marlene Paterno Byrne. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Barbara Kendrick.

Michael is survived his loving wife of 18 years, Kathy, and his daughter, Mikala. He is also survived by his brothers Rick (Dina) and Jeff; his sister Teri Byrne and life partner Denise; his father-in-law Bob Kendrick; his aunt Joanne Paterno; his brothers-in-law Rob Kendrick (Marilyn) and Jimmie Kendrick; sisters-in-law Sandi Kendrick and Connie Kendrick (life partner Sandy). He is also survived by his nephews Jeffrey Byrne, Jeremy Byrne, Preston Edmonson, Joshua Kendrick, Nicholas Kendrick; his nieces Jennifer Buckner, Brittany Byrne, Caitlin Copeland, Madeline Fulp and Jackie Byrne; great-nieces Emma Kathryn and Mary Jane Buckner and Shannon Copeland; great-nephews Brandon Byrne and Tyler Copeland.

Mike (aka Catawba) loved his time on the river in his canoe and his group camping trips with his fellow fishermen. He also enjoyed incorporating an occasional blue grass festival into his fishing trips. He shared his love for the theater and the arts with his daughter Mikala and enjoyed watching her perform on stage. He was also an avid Notre Dame football fan.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715 on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 11:30 am. The family will receive friends following the service.
