Michael Anthony Hartman

A visitation for Michael will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28210, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM. Musicians for the service are Terry Carroll, Jeff Meckola and Kevin Merrell. Interment will be in Northlake Memorial Gardens. Scott Carroll, Drew Merrell, Kevin Merrell, Jesse Meckola, Tony Rosario and Cheng Vang will serve as pallbearers.

Michael was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. He coached a youth basketball teach and was an assistant teacher for the Woodlawn Christian School. Michael truly enjoyed working with children and was a positive influence on children and youth throughout his life. Michael then worked in construction for several years before taking a job with FedEx as a forklift driver. He left FedEx when he became ill.

Nicknamed ‘Flip’ by his buddies, in his youth Michael enjoyed playing football with friends and four-wheeling excursions. Michael was always happy to be grill master at get-togethers, he also enjoyed online gaming and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cathy Christine Hartman, grandfather, Walter Michael Hartman, and aunt, Sandi Hartman Merrell.

Michael is survived by his grandmother, Louise (Poe) Sherrill Hartman, aunts Carol Carroll and husband Terry and Cynthia Meckola and husband Jeff. Cousins Scott Carroll, Jordan Meckola, Alaina Carroll, Drew Merrell, Jesse Meckola, Kevin Merrell, Connie Merrell and his beloved niece, Avianna Carroll. He is also survived by his uncle Andy Merrell and wife Connie. Michael’s uncles were strong father figures for him throughout his life.
