

Michael Edward Thomas 84 CHARLOTTE - Michael Edward Thomas, 84, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on June 24, 2012. He was a WWII veteran, retired radio personality in the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, FL markets, President of Mobilease subsidiary of PepsiCo in Los Angeles, Akers Motor Line partner, owner of the Italian Connection Restaurant in Charlotte, NC, Islander Homes partner in Marathon, FL. He was an avid sport fan of any sport but he particularly liked football and golf. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Santa Monica, California. He will be greatly missed by his children, family, and friends. He is survived by his loving children, Teresa Ann Hurst Russ (Henry), Linda Sue Thomas, Michele Marie Davis (Charles), Michael Joseph Thomas (Julie) and Mark Edward Thomas (Julianne); nine grandchildren Michael Avery Hurst (Jennifer), Brian Thomas Hurst (Stephanie), Charles Edward Davis, Monica Lynn Davis (Daniel), Michael Stephen Thomas (Ellis), Matthew Joseph Thomas, Chase Edward Thomas, Connor Christopher Thomas, Logan Cameron Thomas; eight great grandchildren Mya, Graham, Elliot, Thomas, Camden, Perri, Isabella and Beckett. He is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Mary Margaret Rohe Thomas, Son in Law Avery Lynn Hurst, parents Edward and Maureen Thomas, sisters Patricia Aspinwall, Maureen Mano-cheo, Deloris Fisher, Sally MacLeod, Truly Jason and brother John Thomas. The grave side service will be Wednesday, June 27th at 11:00am at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery located at 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. In lieu of flowers family asks contributions be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte Region, 1420 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 or to your personal charity. The family would like to thank Dr. George Raad, Dr. Peter Loper and Dr. Robert Stack for their many years of devoted care of Mr. Michael Edward Thomas.
