She is survived by daughter, Susan and her husband Alex Williams and daughter, Lillith Braxton; as well as 5 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of her second wonderful husband.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sybil Dobbs; her first husband, Bill Chapman; her second husband, Bill Heebner; and her son-in-law, John Braxton.
Mrs. Heebner attended Furman University and devoted her life to her families, homes and yards. She was an exceptional cook, seamstress and gardener, most recently being a member and officer of the Eastover Garden Club. She was also a long time member of Myers Park Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the amazing staff, residents and volunteers at her home at Morningside Assisted Living in Gastonia, and to the family of caregivers of Home Instead. Her final years were active, happy and filled with new friends, family, adventures, flowers in the courtyard sun, and her beloved dog, Denim.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Heebner’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 9 in Harry & Bryant’s “Chapel in the Oaks”, 500 Providence Road. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
