Ola M. Nealy

Mrs. Nealy, age 81, of Charlotte went to be with her Lord, January 2, 2012.

She was born May 23, 1930 in York County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Roy G. Montgomery and Lucy Green. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. (J.B.) Nealy, and a son, Larry E. Nealy; her brothers, Guy Montgomery (Jessie), Z.D. Montgomery (Pauline), Roy B. Montgomery (Mary), Raymond Montgomery (Louise), Clyde Montgomery (Frances), and Frank Montgomery (Ellen); and sisters, Nell Brant (Harry) and Ellen Turner (Grady). Surviving are her son, James B. (Jimmy) Nealy, Jr.; grandchildren, Philip, Michael and Christina; a brother, Arlie Montgomery and wife, Mary; sisters-in-law, Betty Barefoot (late Charles) and Doney Hogan (Russell); and very dear friends, Sherry, Beth and Azita, whom she loved like daughters; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pal 'Chewy.'

Her priorities in life were serving her Lord, her family and her church. She taught Sunday school for over 50 years touching many lives along the way. Mrs. Nealy was a member of the Kilborne Baptist Church. She worked for Southern Bell and retired after 40 years of service. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all her knew her.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Raod, Charlotte, NC 28212. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Jim Banks officiating. Interment will be in Sharon Memorial Park.
