Pat was born in Charlotte, NC on October 27, 1933 to the late Frances and Kenneth Kistler. She attended Harding High School, the Women’s College in Greensboro, and CPCC.
She was married to the late Andrew J. Turner, Jr. for 52 years. She remarried the late T. W. Aldred. She is survived by Andrew J. Turner III and his former wife Libba Turner, Lise Turner, and Amelia Turner (John Rossi). Pat, affectionately known as Pitty Pat, was an extremely proud grandmother and great-grandmother to grandsons Denton Turner, Jonas Heidenreich, Matthew Mueller, and Milo Rossi and granddaughters Cortney Turner Allen (Clayton) and Hannah Heidenreich Kelley (Aidan) and great-grandchildren Josie and James Allen. She is also survived by her brother Richard Kistler and his wife Gay Kistler of Richmond, VA, sister-in-law Janice Kistler of Charlotte, wife of her late brother Gerald Kistler.
Pat enjoyed life to its fullest. She enjoyed playing tennis for over 50 years at Olde Providence Racquet Club, loved gardening, reading, watching birds, and being with family at the beach and the mountains. She considered herself very lucky as she did everything on her ‘bucket list’… seeing the pyramids in Egypt, walking on the Great Wall of China, going to the Chelsea Flower Show, attending the Rose Parade, attending Wimbledon twice, and the French Open.
She was a long-time member at Sardis Presbyterian Church and served on numerous committees, was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, volunteered as a docent at Winged Haven, tutored at Rama Road School, was on the Board of Friends at the Mint, and was a member of Senior Scholars.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Shelton Room (second floor), Southminster Retirement Community, 8919 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Memorials may be sent to Sardis Presbyterian Church or Compassion & Choices.
