She is survived by sister, Diane Husband and brother, Gary Rice. It’s fitting that she passed the day before Easter, as one of her favorite activities was Sunday morning sunrise service on Easter Sunday at the beach, watching the sunrise from the ocean surrounded by her children Terry (Chari), Cindy (Tim), David (Wanda), Bobbie, and her grandchildren, all who loved her very much. This year, she watched the sunrise from above beside Glenn, who she loved and missed dearly. Both finally free from any pain and together again, laughing and walking alongside each other in a garden overflowing with muscadine vines and tomatoes, rekindling a love that began over 60 years ago.
We always thought Glenn was the tougher of the two, and no doubt he was as tough as they came, but Pat showed us all the past few years that she could handle anything that came her way and that the love she had for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, trumped all.
We will miss her terribly, but we take solace knowing she is now walking with the Lord and with Glenn, ready to receive us all when it is our time.
We love you. We miss you. We will never forget you. Thank you for a lifetime of love and memories. That legendary home on Radford Avenue, full of so much love, laughter, and memories, will shine a little less bright tonight.
