Paul was born to Walter and Gertrude Tolman on June 17, 1948, in Concord, NH. He grew up in Keene, NH, creating many memories with his brother Gary and sister Karen at their childhood home on Washington Street. Paul attended Norwich University, making many lifelong friends in the U.S. Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program.
After graduation, he served two years in the Army at White Sands Missile Range, NM, where he met Roxie, his wife of over 51 years. He then worked in the defense industry for 20 years before pivoting to a 20-year career in the commercial electronics and power supplies space. While working, he still found time to coach his sons in various youth sports. In retirement, Paul and Roxie settled into the wonderful community of Sun City, where he was a member of the Neighborhood Representative Council and enjoyed many activities such as wine club, dancing, cookie exchanges, weekly men’s breakfasts, volunteering at church, and traveling with their many friends.
Paul was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a kind and honorable man. He leaves behind his brother Gary Tolman and sister Karen Durham; his eldest son Jarrett, wife Gwen, and their sons Declan and Asher; his youngest son Adam, wife Natalia, and their sons Gideon, James, and Nolan; and several nieces and nephews. He will be very missed.
Services will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Van Wyck Presbyterian Church, 5140 Old Hickory Rd. Van Wyck, SC 29744.
