Paula Leonard

Mrs. Leonard, 74, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on February 17, 2012. She was born on September 26, 1937 in Mt. Holly, NC, a daughter of the late Nellie and Booth Melvin.

Paula was a graduate of the ’56 class of Harding High School and went on to graduate from King’s Business College, both of Charlotte. Mrs. Leonard retired from the office of the North Carolina Clerk of Courts.

She was a wonderful mother to her five children, Robert David Leonard and wife, Cyndi, Paul Edward Leonard and wife, Stacie, John Steven Leonard and fiancé, Marti, Amy Leonard Hollingsworth and Emily Leonard Ratterree; and a proud grandmother to Thomas Andrew Hollingsworth, Shelby Rawlins and Noah Rawlins; sisters, Faye Edwards, Martha Morrison, Jean Swann and Becky Jenkins; and a brother, Larry Melvin.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Assurance United Methodist Church, 9700 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd., Huntersville, NC. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and at other times at the family home in Charlotte.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
