Mrs. Peggy Marie Peggy Marie Smith Haslop

Mrs. Peggy Marie Haslop, age 61 of Waxhaw, NC formerly of Lima, Ohio passed away after an extended illness at her residence on Sunday, April 11th, 2010. She was born May, 27, 1948 in Lima, to John D. and Martha (Blakeley) Smith. Mrs. Haslop is a 1966 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School and attended Lima Technical College. She was a homemaker, and especially enjoyed making the holidays special for her family. Peggy loved puzzles, games and books, especially the Bible and the relationship she had with her Lord. She was known for her outstanding Christian character and her beautiful smile.

Mrs. Haslop was preceded in death by her father, John D. Smith, her son, Billy Moore, a granddaughter, Samantha Houston; a brother, David Smith, and a sister, Christine Smith

She is survived by her mother, Martha (Blakeley) Smith of Lima, her husband and best friend of 31 years, Norman T. Haslop of Waxhaw, four sons; Cory Haslop of Charlotte, David Haslop of Ada, Dan Haslop of North Dakota and John Paul Moore of Lima; three daughters; Sarah (Shane) Walsh of Waxhaw, Michelle (George) McGhee and Deanne Kilgore of Charlotte; Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Haslop has four sisters; Barbara (James) Remlinger of Chicago, Kate Allyn of Lima, Kim (Randy) Wright of Harrod and Nancy (Clay) Armstrong of Shreveport; two brothers, Michael (Bonnie) Smith and Thomas Smith, both of Lima.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Waxhaw Presbyterian Church. Service time is 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends after the service.
