Peggy Thornton Thornton Watson

A native of Savannah, GA, Mrs. Watson was born to the late Frank Thornton and Bertha Eason Thornton on March 21, 1930. She was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church and retired from J.B. Ivey's after more than 20 years of service. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband Verlon S. "Bob" Watson, Sr. in 2012.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her children; V. S. Watson, Jr. and wife Allison, Edward W. Watson and wife Janet, Sheila W. Langford, grandchildren; V.S. Watson, III, Marie Watson, Samantha Kallal, Brett Watson, Kyle Watson, Jenna Mobley, Ashley Ostrom, Allison Smith; thirteen great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Ann Watson and niece Jeanne Elder.

The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 3rd in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte with the Rev. Albert Leath officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
