

Philip Lewis Trabulsi, 92, of Charlotte passed away peacefully on July 18 after a brief illness, with his family at his side. Phil was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 17, 1924 to the late Philip and Helen Wesche Trabulsi. After attending Bordentown Military Academy, Phil served his country in the US Army during WWII in North Africa and Europe, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. He earned a Bronze Star, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, of which he was very proud, two Purple Hearts and several campaign medals. After his discharge, he returned to Brooklyn where he met the love of his life, Claire Young. Phil and Claire were married in June, 1950 and lived in Islip, NY where they raised their five children. The moved to Charlotte in 1979. Phil retired from sales in the Textile Industry.
Phil loved doing crossword puzzles and was an avid reader of mysteries and historical fiction. A long time New York Giants fan, Phil became a Charlotte Panthers fan and watched the games every week. In his later years, he was cared for by Sherry Rhyne, who became like a family member. His great nephew, Stuart Kasin, was his right hand man when his children couldn't be there.
Phil is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 66 years, Claire Trabulsi; daughters Anne (Daniel) Gannon of Trophy Club, TX; Jean Ferraro of Montauk, NY; Mary (Vernon) Rail of Southport, ME; Martha (Bob) Murray of Islip, NY and son Philip (Kay) Trabulsi of Danville, IN, and his sister Joan Trabulsi of East Hampton, NY. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Trabulsi. He loved and was extremely proud of his five grandchildren Andrew Trabulsi, Julia Trabulsi, Stephen Trabulsi, Bill Murray and Dan Murray.
Services will be private. A Celebration of Phil’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Phil’s memory to Holy Angels Foundation, 6600 Wilkinson Blvd, P.O.
