Phyllis L. Foster, 79, of Tega Cay, SC, formerly of Huntington, WV, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. She was born April 15, 1939, in Dunbar, WV, the daughter of the late Dale and Ellen Kinsell. Phyllis graduated from Huntington East High School in 1957, where she loved being a majorette and meeting many lifelong friends. She attended Marshall University and received a Bachelors and Masters of Art degree in Education. She had a successful career as a teacher and counselor for 30 years in Cabell County, WV, then retired with her loving husband, Jim Foster, to Tega Cay, SC.
Phyllis loved to travel, exercise, garden, sing, bake, play piano and the hand bells, sew, work crossword puzzles, scrapbook, watch sporting events, go to the movie theater, and decorate for Christmas-her favorite time of the year. She especially loved spending time with her family and serving her church community because of her dear love of Jesus.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, James Foster; and her son, Marc Frye; and is survived by her brothers Dale Jr. and Gary (Donna) Kinsell; her son John (Rima) Frye; her daughter, Mechelle (John) Hanna; daughter-in-law, Vicky Frye; step-children Chris Foster (Nancy Sawka) and Jennifer Foster; her grandchildren Daniel (Brie), Nick, Jacob, Royce, Skylar and Gracie; step grand-children Reed, Kevin, Justin and Zackary; and great grandson, Takoda.

Our mother will be remembered by many for her quiet strength and loving heart. To us, she was an extraordinary mother and best friend, who will be sorely missed. Knowing that she is resting in His loving embrace, and that we will see her again in heaven, greatly comforts us at this time. Mommy, you are forever in our hearts. Keep working on your harmonizing, until we can harmonize together again. We love you dearly...
