Rachel Baker Deen

Rachel Baker Deen, 90, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 in Denver, NC. Born August 13, 1933 in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late Clegg and Gertie (Cook) Baker. She married Monroe Deen on February 13, 1951 in York, SC.

A graduate of East Mecklenburg High School, Rachel went on to work for A&P, where she retired after 33 years of employment. She was a faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, president of Sunday School, work in the church nursery and the cafeteria.

Her greatest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren and loved having birthday parties for them no matter the age. A family oriented person, Rachel enjoyed spending the holidays with friends and family. A giver at heart, she would help anyone in need.

Survivors include her children, Rachel (Michael) Hass, Ronnie (Ellana) Deen and Gail (Bobby) Caudle; daughter-in-law, Susan Deen; grandchildren, Donnie (Stephanie) Knight, Jeremy Deen, Randy (Brandy) Knight, Ronnie Deen Jr., Lance Reeves, Christine Reeves, Brittany (James) Weierbach, Corey Deen and Bryce Deen; 5 great-grandchildren; special friends, Larry and Brenda Hagler.

In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her husband and son, William Carl Deen.

A visitation for Rachel will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 9:00 am until the time of service at 10:00 in the chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com.
