Born in Kiev, Ukraine on June 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Eleazar Erlichman and Claudia Rafaelovna Erlichman. She attended high school and college in Kiev ultimately receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering, a field she worked in while living in Ukraine as well as in Charlotte, North Carolina after immigrating to the United States in 1977.
The delight of Raisa’s life was her family, especially her grandchildren, for whom she always had a secret stash of candy every time they came to visit. She dearly loved her husband, Gregory whom she married on June 30, 1967. She was a devoted mother to her two boys, Boris and Alex, always showing her love by holding them to high standards and devoting her time to cooking amazing meals for them. Her insistence on excellence moved from her kids to her grandkids, although most of the time her grandkids could do no wrong in her eyes. Her infectious smile, love of music and dancing, devotion to her family and her culinary skill will forever be missed.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gregory A. Bunich, her two children Boris C. Bunich and Alex Bunich, her five beloved grandchildren Claire, Isabella, Evan, Sophie and Andrew as well as her sister Svetlana Vaynshtein (Sveta).
A private family service will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023. The family will receive friends following the service at a celebration of her life at 1:30pm at the Hyatt Centric Charlotte/SouthPark hotel, 3100 Apex Drive. Charlotte, NC 28211.
