

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Gregory H. Blair. She was preceded in death by her sister, Denyse Carter.
A graduate of Waynesboro, (PA) High School, she earned her Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Art Education from Shepherd College
She was born in Richmond, Virginia, and was a longtime resident in Hagerstown Maryland, before moving to Shanghai, China. Upon her return to the United States, she resided in Lexington, SC, and, most recently, in Charlotte NC.
She was an elementary school art teacher for 22 years, working in Washington and Frederick County, MD, and at the Rainbow International School in Shanghai. Her teaching impacted hundreds of children, inspiring them to excel, and cultivate their own interest, in art.
Her artistic and design interests led to multiple craft endeavors, including jewelry, textiles, photography, and home design/décor. Signature creations included silver Asian-inspired jewelry, tooled and dyed leather jewelry, photo imagery and fabric collages, and whimsical fairy fabric dolls. She displayed and sold her creations on her website Inspiraled.com, a moniker derived from her signature silver wire and lapidary creations.
She was a frequent exhibitor at juried craft shows along the Eastern US, winning multiple awards for her submissions in jewelry design, crafting, and dollmaking.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 on Friday, November 30, 2018 at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte NC 28210.
