Becky, age 83, passed away in the early morning of Thursday, April 7th at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born in Weddington, NC Jan. 14, 1933 to the late Brice Horton, Sr. and Edith Cox Horton.
Becky graduated in 1951 in the last graduating class of Paw Creek High School and spent most of her life in the Paw Creek Community. She was a lifelong member of Thrift Baptist Church and retired after 29 years as a Claims Adjuster from The Saint Paul Co., where she had many good friends. Becky was a HUGE UNC Tarheels fan and loved Michael Jordon! She adored Elvis and thought he was “The best looking man that God ever created!” She loved the beach and traveling to Cancun and the Bahamas, thrift stores and yard sales. She was a dear Mother, Maw Maw, sister, wife and friend and will be sorely missed.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, Warren Woodrow; her beloved grandson, Josh Woodrow, Sr.; brother, Brice Horton, Jr.; her sisters, Patricia Kelly and Bonnie Dotson and her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Woodrow.
She is survived by her son, Dwayne Woodrow of Kannapolis, NC; her daughter and son and caregivers, Teresa Farrar and Derek Woodrow of Charlotte; her two grandsons, Chris McAllister and wife Heather of Cramerton, NC and Zach Woodrow and wife, Lauren of Kannapolis, NC. Six great grandchildren, Josh Woodrow, Jr, Victoria, Gina and Trenton McAllister, Hope Ann Woodrow and Liam McCoy. Dear, lifelong loyal friend, Delores Eck.
Special thanks to her Hospice family, who were so good to all of us – especially sweet Dianne and Tunisha.
