Mr. Richard E. Thomas

Richard, 83, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at home in his garden. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post 345. Richard was a plumber and a master of his trade. If you knew Richard you knew he was a family man. His family meant everything to him. He had the best sense of humor around and was the most caring and giving man. He will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife Patsy; his children Richard, Jr. and wife Janet; Jamie Thomas, Becky Rowland and her husband Powers; Cindy Morgan and her husband Steve; Kellie Petty and her husband Creg; and his brother Jim Thomas. Also surviving 3 grandchildren Kelsi and Sam Rowland and Carter Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Joe and Bill Thomas.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Harry and Bryant. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association or the Humane Society of Charlotte in honor of his best friend and dog Samantha.
