Born November 19, 1975 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Rick J Pearson Sr. And Barbara Kay Lewis. Following graduation from Central Cabarrus High School, Ricky pursued his passion in the two things he loved the most: music/art and cars. His career in the auto body world started in 1991 painting cars. He worked his way around the body shop learning every skill there was. With Ricky’s dedication to craftsmanship and entrepreneurial mind, he went on to start his own business, Street Scenes Auto. After 20 years of dedication and determination, Street Scenes grew from a detailing business to an all-encompassing auto body organization. From detailing cars, painting, repairs and restoring classics, Ricky took pride in being best in class. Pretty good was never good enough!
Ricky’s other passion was art. It was through painting that he could express his creativity. It was through music that he found freedom and connection in others, describing it as Digital Therapy. He began DJ’ing in his early 20s and it was such a big component of his life. Ricky inspired so many others in the industry through his passion for life, his ability to uplift & support those around him, while pushing those he loved to reach the potential he saw in them.
Ricky’s life was always built on the foundation of Christ but in 2012, after enduring many trials and tribulations, he recommitted his life to the Lord. This led him to serving the Kingdom and community through the non profit organization Make Your Mark. He and his wife Ginger served as program directors for 6 years leaving a lasting impact on the community and the hearts and lives of many.
The joy of Ricky’s life was his family. He adored his wife Ginger whom he married on March 17, 2007. He was a devoted and loving father to London, Roman, and Sully. He loved spending time with his family whether at the pool on a summer day, spending time at the shop, or just riding around; they always came first! Ricky believed in and loved his family deeply as a son, brother, uncle, grandson, and cousin. He believed that once you were a friend, you were family. He leaves behind so many friendships and a legacy that truly are once-in-a-lifetime.
Rick is survived by his wife of 16 years Ginger. He leaves behind three children, London Rose, Roman Asher, and John Sullivan; his parents Ricky J. Pearson Sr. (Genie Pearson) and Barbara Kay Dale (Eddie Dale); one brother, Dustin Pearson (April), and two sisters Ellen Lawless (Rodney Lawless) and Emily Schneider (Trevor Schneider), along with nieces, nephews and many cousins.
A service to celebrate Ricky's life will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 4:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
