Robert Joseph Doran Jr.

Robert J. Doran, Jr. passed away peacefully December 4, 2014, at CMC Pineville. Bob was born November 16, 1945 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Robert J Doran, Sr. and the late Ida Taggart Doran. Bob was preceded in death by his brother John Doran of Cincinnati, OH. Bob was a 1965 graduate of Kentucky Military Institute and attended the University of Cincinnati. He was employed by the family business, Ace Doran Hauling & Rigging Co. of Cincinnati. Bob is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Karen L. Doran, of the home; two sons, Christopher B. Doran and wife, Kristen of Fort Mill, SC, and Evan R. Doran of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Siina Olivia and Barrett Christopher Doran; two sisters, Anastasia Combs (Hal) of Cincinnati, OH; Kathleen Hegenberger (Rick) of Johns Island, SC; two brothers, Daniel Doran (Anne) of Hamilton, OH; and Patrick Doran (Shirley) of Villa Hills, KY; sisters-in-law Nancy Stahnke (Ben) of Charlotte, NC and Penny Kanzlemar (Chuck) of Milford, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob and Karen were married in 1968 in Cincinnati, OH and shortly after moved to Louisville, KY until 1984 when they moved to Charlotte, NC where they lived for 27 years. During the summer of 2011 they moved to Sun City Carolina Lakes. In addition to his love of family, Bob's passions were flying and golf. A private service to celebrate Bob's life will be held Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill, SC. Friends and family are welcome to gather beginning at 3pm on Sunday at the Doran home in Sun City Carolina Lakes, following the service.
