Born the 4th of five sons to James Leland and Mary Ellen Pate Lancaster on July 19th. Bobby grew up in Salisbury, NC and graduated from Boyden High School, class of 1957. He attended Catawba College and graduated from Charlotte College of Hair Design. Bobby has lived in Charlotte since and remained in that career for over sixty years. Bobby was a long time member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church until the time of his death.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews. One special niece, who is like a daughter, Deborah L. Rainey (Terry) and her two daughters, Alicia R. Shue (Tony), their two children Emma Pate and Anderson Truman Shue, and Deanna R. Sitlinger (Tim) and their son Isaac Mitchell Sitlinger all of Salisbury. Also over 20 great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews.
"Bobby" was preceded in death by his parents and brothers James C. "Jamie" Lancaster, Alfred Truman Lancaster, and Joe M. Lancaster of Cottondale, Alabama, and survived by James L. "Jim" Lancaster of Grand Forks, ND.
Services are private for family and friends at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum on Saturday May 17, 2025 at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital of Memphis, TN and House of Mercy in Belmont, NC.
