Rosa O. Francisco Ponce

A native of Cuba, Mrs. Ponce was born to the late David Francisco and Encarnacion Chavez Francisco on May 17, 1921. She immigrated from Cuba to Charlotte in 1965. Mrs. Ponce retired as a seamstress at Admiration Hosiery Mills after 31 years of service. She is preceded in death by a brother, Jorge Francisco.

Mrs. Ponce is survived by her husband of 58 years, Alberto A. Ponce; children, Al Ponce, Jr. of Concord, Cira Ponce of Charlotte; grandchildren, Jennifer Ponce, Carmen Ponce Wood; great-grandchild, Blake Ponce; brother, David Francisco and wife Maria Rosa of Miami, FL; nieces, Maria, Barbara, and Hortencia Francisco; nephews, O.P., Paul, Daniel and David Ponce and several other nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 4 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Rd., Charlotte. A private interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte.
