In 1936, Rosemary was born to Herman H. Hiltbrand and Florence M. Freeburn Hiltbrand at her family home near North Fort Myers, Florida. She grew up with five siblings and had a childhood filled with adventure. Rosemary graduated from Ft. Myers Sr. High School in 1953. Following graduation, she began a career in banking that carried over many institutions and spanned many decades.
In 1954, Rosemary married and was soon blessed with children. She was a devout member of Tropic Iles Baptist Church in North Fort Myers, Florida where she served a number of charitable causes.
Rosemary followed her children to North Carolina in 1996. She spent much time with her five children and grandchildren. She delighted in family gatherings that allowed her to see all of the joy and love that surrounded those she cared about most. Rosemary found a second family in the community of Stough Memorial Baptist Church. There, she was an active member of the choir and a number of notable initiatives at the church. Rosemary found joy in many things, but was especially delighted in singing and birds.
She is survived by her five children, son, Russell W. Tompkins; daughter, Jan M. Siciliano, and son-in-law, Kevin Siciliano; daughter, Yvonne C. Shank and son-in-law, Dan Shank; daughter, Lori L. Dill; and daughter, Donna P. Young and son-in-law, John Young; as well as nine grandchildren: Aaron Tompkins, Cameron Tompkins, Rochelle Rhodes, Taylor Bass, Tanner Bass, Kristen Burke, Alyssa Shank, Andrew Young, and Carson Young.
