Roy Lynn Abee

Roy Lynn Abee. Born May 31, 1940, entered Heaven November 7,2016. His beautiful wife, Mary Lee Abee, who was the joy of his life for 53 years, survives him. He leaves behind a son and daughter as well, Sharon Fernelius (Paul) and Richard Abee (Laura). Five grandchildren, who gave him much pleasure and numerous adventures survive him: Kylie Westfall (Luke), Alex Fernelius, Sara Abee, Olivia Fernelius and Lindsay Fernelius. Preceding him in death are his mother, Ruby Settlemyre Abee, father, Herbert Abee sister, Belinda Mosley, and brothers, Arlen and Larry Abee. Roy was a graduate of Valdese High School class of 1958. Upon moving to Charlotte, Roy began his working career with Thurston Motor Lines before taking a position with Johnston Motor Lines and eventually retiring from Continental General Tire in 1998. Roy had a love for classic cars, his North Carolina Tar Heel’s and the Carolina Panthers. Roy always enjoyed a good old-fashioned boxing match whenever he would catch one on TV. He was great family man that will always be remembered for his kind words and warm smile. The family will receive friends Friday, November 11, 2016 from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at University Hills Baptist Church (1500 Suther Rd. Charlotte, NC 28213). The funeral service will follow from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
