

Southminster. She was born on August 24th, 1925 in Cope, SC to Pansy Ruth Jameson Fogle and Frank
Risher Fogle.
After graduating from Cope High School, she moved to Charlotte to live with her sister Gladys Rozzelle.
She worked at Charlotte Aircraft during the WW II years. She was then employed as a secretary at
Chadbourn Hosiery Mills where she met her husband, Paul Bowen. They were married February 11th 1949.
After raising her two children, she worked as a retoucher for Delmar Studios and worked the voting polls
for many years.
After moving to the Newell community on Back Creek Church Road, she became an avid gardener and reader — constantly visiting the local library. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her parents, two sisters, Virginia Fogle and Ellamena Simpson, and three brothers, Dempsey Fogle, George Fogle, and James Fogle.
She is survived by her son, Darrell Bowen of Oak Island, NC, his daughter Meghan Bowen Johnson and husband Eric Johnson of Southern Pines, NC; her daughter Dale Bowen of Charlotte, NC.; sister Gladys Rozzelle of Charlotte, NC and brothers Richard Fogle of Cordova, SC, Valmore Fogle of Huntsville, Ala., and Melvin Fogle of Cope, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of Newell Baptist Church.
A service of remembrance will be held at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road,
Charlotte, NC 28212 on Wednesday, June 12th at 2:00 pm, with burial at Sharon Memorial
Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would like to thank Carolinas Medical Center and the staff of Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster for their kindness and care of Ruby.
