Ruth K. Eason

Born on January 9, 1930 in Ashford, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Elizabeth (Grice) King. Her family meant everything to her.

A graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College, she took extra courses at the Queens College and served 13 years with Celanese Marketing Company as Secretary and Oder Correspondent.

Mrs. Eason was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and the Love Sunday School Class. Before that, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years and served as the Women’s Missionary Union Director, Sunday School Teacher, Departmental Sunday School Superintendent and choir member for several years.

Left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Fred Stanley Smith Jr. of Cornelius, NC and John (Tina) Kenneth Smith; her grandchildren, Carly (Brian), Brad and Ryan; her great-grandson, Luke, all of Gaithersburg, MD; her stepchildren, Len and Mary Eason and their children; as well as her dear friend, Lou.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eason was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred S. Smith, Sr. and Marvin L. Eason, Sr.

A private burial will take place at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Autism Society
