He was born in Salonika, Greece, son of the late Leo and Flora Benveniste, and brother of the late Emma Julia Goodman.
Sam was a member of Temple Emanuel and a retired Industrial Real Estate Broker.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Ober Benveniste, and sister, Dinah Fayne Cohen and husband Michael.
The family had a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 17th at Temple Emanuel. Graveside services at Hebrew Cemetery in Charlotte were private.
