

Mr. Samuel Monroe Biggers, a beloved resident of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, passed away on February 21, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on October 5, 1935, Mr. Biggers was known for his generous, hard-working, and inspirational nature. He was also humorous, devoted, kind-hearted, and loyal, qualities that endeared him to many.
A graduate of East Mecklenburg High School, Sam served as an Army Veteran, demonstrating his commitment and dedication to his country. Following his military service, he was employed for the next 30+ years at The Cato Corporation as a Merchandiser. He continued to impact those around him with his love of music and community involvement.
Sam is survived by his wife, Billie Biggers, and his children: daughter Kathy Coble of Concord, NC, daughter Angela Biggers of Gold Hill, son John Biggers of Mint Hill, Deborah Hardaway (Dale) of Lake Wylie, and Todd Hartsell of Archdale. He was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and he leaves behind a niece, Susan Wolfe of Gold Hill, along with two great-nieces.
His personal interests included singing and playing the guitar, reading, driving his 1940 Chevy Coupe, working in the yard, and visiting friends. Sam's passion for music was evident as he often played his guitar and sang at nursing homes, bringing joy to many. He was an active member of his church community, most recently attending Journey Fellowship Church and River Hills Community Church.
Sam enjoyed bringing his love of music and the joy of his Lord to others, always sharing laughter through his great sense of humor. He was a loving father, husband, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and joy.
The family expresses their deep gratitude for the kindness shown to Sam during his dialysis treatments over the last eight years, and especially for the support from Agape Palliative Care and Hospice in his final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Journey Fellowship Church at Lake Wylie, located at 5415 Hwy 557, Lake Wylie, SC 29710, on March 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
