Sandra L. Ewing

Charlotte – Mrs. Ewing, 71, passed away on January 10, 2022 at Levine-Dickson Hospice at Southminster in Charlotte, NC following a long illness. She was born on June 1, 1950 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Audrey Blackwell and the late Frank O. Blackwell.

Mrs. Ewing was a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Charlotte area for nearly 40 years.

Sandi enjoyed curling up with a good book, as she loved to read. She loved sewing and often had to lovingly chase the cat off of one of the quilts so she could finish working. Sandi also enjoyed planning scavenger hunts, cutesy crafts, and fun games for her grandchildren.

Sandi is survived by her mother, Audrey Blackwell of Wooster, OH; her husband, William Ewing of Indian Land, SC; her sister, Joyce Speicher (Wes) of Wooster, OH; her brother, Frank Blackwell (LuAnne) of Tioga Center, NY; as well as her brother, David Blackwell of Butler, PA. She is also survived by her two children, Julie Lesher (Anthony) of Belmont, NC and Scott Ewing (Alexis) of Charlotte, NC. Grandchildren include Devin, Abby, and Sam.

The service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Home Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Charlotte Memorial Gardens.
