Sarah B Roland

Sarah Roland, 88, of Charlotte, NC, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January, 28, 2025. She was born on July, 1, 1936 in Stanly County. She was preceded in death by her son, Fred Doby. Sarah is survived by: son Randy (Connie) Doby, son Mickey (Judy) Doby, grandson Michael (Nicole) Doby Jr, granddaughter Lauren (Chris) Caton, and great-grandchildren Charli, Daxton, Tucker, and Savannah.

Sarah was a fun, loving person who loved to have a good time. She enjoyed boating on the lake, listening to music, watching her favorite TV shows, shopping, dancing, and eating a hot dog with an ice cream sundae. Sarah loved spending time with her family and friends, cooking Southern style meals, telling stories, and having a good laugh. Sarah had a prosperous career as she became the first woman barber in North Carolina in 1965. Sarah owned Men’s World barber shop and loved seeing her customers and co-workers.

Sarah will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memories will live in our hearts forever.

Graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park on Saturday, February, 8, at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be sent to Hospice of Union County.
