With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sherry Brown, a loving wife, devoted mother, wonderful grandmother, and dear friend. She left this world on March 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and warmth that will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Born on January 16, 1946, in Washington D.C., Sherry dedicated her life to her family. She was the devoted wife of Mike and the proud mother of Heather and Heath, who were her greatest joys. As a grandmother, she found endless happiness in Jayden, Gabrielle, Trey, Madison, Makayla, and Cannon, cherishing every moment she spent with them.
She found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments—watching birds from her window, admiring butterflies in the garden, and feeling a deep connection to the sight of a bright red cardinal, which she believed was a symbol of love and remembrance. Her favorite color, purple, reflected the warmth and grace she carried in her heart.
A true homemaker at heart, she found joy in decorating her home, making it a warm and welcoming place for family and friends. She loved trying new recipes, always delighting her loved ones with delicious meals and sweet treats made with love. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and togetherness. One of her greatest pleasures was visiting the mountains, where she found peace and wonder in nature’s beauty.
Sherry is survived by her beloved husband, Mike Brown; her children, Heather (Darrell) Wilkins and Heath (Michelle) Brown; sister, Cindi Freeze; and her treasured grandchildren, Jayden, Gabrielle, Trey, Madison, Makayla, and Cannon. She also leaves behind a host of loving family members and friends who were blessed to have known her gentle spirit and boundless love.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am on April 10, 2025, at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel located at 10500 Park Road in Charlotte.
In honor of her love for nature and beauty, guests are encouraged to wear something purple.
The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project in her memory.
Though she is no longer with us, her love and light will continue to shine in every bird’s song, every fluttering butterfly, and every mountain breeze.
Rest peacefully, dear Sherry, Mom and Nana. Your love will live on in our hearts forever!
