He embodied the values of hard work and family devotion, showing through example how persistence and love create a life of profound meaning.
As a successful businessman, Mr. Lee operated multiple dry cleaning establishments across Charlotte for over 50 years. Through dedication, hard work, and quality service, he built a thriving enterprise that continues to flourish today. During retirement, he was a devoted member of the Charlotte True Buddha Temple, where he actively served the temple and community with the same dedication he brought to all aspects of his life.
Above all, Mr. Lee's greatest joy was his family. His favorite moments were spent sharing meals surrounded by those he loved. Known affectionately as Ye Ye and Gong Gong by his grandchildren, he found deep fulfillment in being present for both everyday moments and milestone celebrations as his family grew. He will be remembered for his endless love, calming presence, and enduring commitment to those closest to him.
Until his final day, Mr. Lee was surrounded by loved ones at home, a testament to the profound impact he made on each person's life.
Mr. Lee is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lai Ngor Lee, and their children, Susan Smith (Elton Travis Smith, Jr.) and Jimmy Lee (Karen Lee). He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Kelsey Smith, Joshua Smith (Yulin Chen), Jessica Lee (Joshua Bracewell), James Lee, Jonathan Lee, and Julia Lee.
