Stella Mae Thurston

Charlotte - Stella Rutledge Thurston died Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at home. She was the widow of Doc Jones Thurston, Jr. Mrs. Thurston was born November 16, 1924, the daughter of Ben and Dona Key Rutledge, both deceased.

She is survived by two sons, Doc Jones Thurston, III of Charlotte, NC and William Rutledge Thurston of Frankfort, KY. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Rutledge Reavis of Winston-Salem, NC. Three brothers, James Ben Rutledge and Billy Ray Rutledge, both of Yadkinville, NC, and Fred Richard Rutledge of Hull, GA preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 4426 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11 am, conducted by Joseph D. Aldrich, Pastor of Myers Park Baptist Church.
