Sue S. Jones

Born January 8, 1939 in Hickory, NC, Sue was the daughter of the late Ann B. Sherrill. She was a graduate of Hickory High School and also attended Lenoir-Rhyne College where she took business courses that she used throughout her life.

Sue was a member of Providence Baptist Church for the past few years and had been a member of Derita Baptist Church prior to that.

The greatest joy in Sue’s life was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially on Sunday afternoons. One of the things she was most proud of was that all of her family lived in Charlotte.

She is survived by her husband, Bennie R. Jones; three children, Karen Sprague, Greg Jones and Carol Mace; and six beloved grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Sue’s life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Providence Baptist Church, 4921 Randolph Road. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Harry & Bryant Funeral Home, 500 Providence Road from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and at the church immediately following the funeral.
