Sue Britton Reynolds

Born August 4,1934 in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Reynolds Robert Britton and Isa Foust Britton. She graduated as valedictorian from South Norfolk High School in 1952. She then furthered her education at the College of William & Mary, where she earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. During college she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and met the love of her life, Joe. They married in 1956 and started a family in Hartford, Connecticut.

She lived in several places including Charlotte, NC, Columbia, SC, Richmond, VA and Nashville, TN before settling back in Charlotte for 50 years.

Sue's greatest joy in life was caring for her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and visiting with her neighbors in Huntingtowne Farms. Her hobbies included traveling, shopping, reading, gardening, playing bridge, attending the theatre, and cheering on the Carolina Tar Heels. Sue was an animal lover who spoiled her numerous pets throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by 2 children, Karen Carter Reynolds of Pleasant Garden, NC and Leslie Reynolds Dellinger of Pineville, NC and two beloved grandchildren, Rainey Dellinger Howard (Zack) of Charlotte, NC and Hailey Britton Dellinger of Asheville, NC. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Joseph Welch Reynolds.

Special thanks to the devoted caregivers that nurtured her through her illness during the final years of her life.

Private interment will be at Pleasant Garden Methodist cemetery.
