Suzanne Larkin Stanley

Suzanne Grace Larkin Stanley, 77, of Charlotte, NC, died September 19, 2010 at a local hospital. She was born on May 25, 1933 in Niagara Falls, NY, to the late Albert and Mary Hughes Larkin.

Sue graduated from Clarence Central School in Clarence, NY, earned a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree from Case Western University in Ohio. She taught library science for many years at Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY and retired as the school’s librarian in 1995. She loved reading, spending time with her family and being outdoors in the sun. She touched and enriched the lives of so many that she now leaves behind.

She was predeceased by her husbands Robert Stanley and John Clarke and her sister Marilyn (John) Cashmore. She is survived by her three children Stephanie Sharlow of Danbury, CT, Elizabeth Snyder (Van) and Jonathan Blake Clarke of Charlotte, NC. She was the proud grandmother to Ellery Larkin Sharlow, Logan Clarke Sharlow and Maxwell Everett Snyder.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm, Thursday, September 23, 2010 at McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210. Family will receive friends at 2 pm prior to the service. Condolences may be made at www.mcewenpinevillechapel.com.
