Sydney Francis Saunders III “Sonny” was born April 5, 1948 in the Bronx NY to Angelina Scott and the late Sydney F. Saunders II. Sonny was educated in the Bronx, NY public school and graduated from Aviation High School in Queens NY. Upon graduation from Aviation High School, Sonny then embarked on the career of his Dreams as an aeronautical mechanic at Pan Am Airlines. On the closing of Pan Am, He then attended Helen Fuld School of Nursing and pursued a career in Nursing until his retirement in 2010. Sydney and Yolanda relocated to Charlotte NC in 1991. Sydney was married to Yolanda Pryor on October 16, 1993.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Yolanda, his mother Angelina Scott, his sisters Angelena Broomfield of NY, Karen Scott Lee of FL, his children Sydney F Saunders IV of MD, Melaine Saunders Varnadore of NC, Lorreen Saunders Sample of NC, Eugene Pryor and Lebron Pryor of NC and Brian Bell of NY, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends that loved him dearly.
