Thelma D. Howell "Pell"

Thelma Daniels Howell “Pell”, age 99, of Charlotte, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Mecklenburg Health Care Center. She was born October 20, 1915 in Avery County, NC, to the late Clingman and Bertie Daniels. She was married to the late Burl Howell.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her son, Joe Daniels Howell; her daughter, Burline Howell Wall; brothers, Harold Daniels and Tate Daniels; and her sister Ruby Daniels Garland.

She is survived by grandson, Danny Howell and wife, Danielle, of York, SC; granddaughter, Cindi Wall Powell and husband, Dale, of Mt Pleasant, SC; grandson, Robert Wall and wife, Kathleen, of Orlando, FL; four great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her.

Mrs. Howell was a graduate of Newland High School, and worked for 33 years at Charlotte Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Holly Hunter Baptist Church in Charlotte.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday, November 9, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Holly Hunter Baptist Church, 4316 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road in Charlotte. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014, at the church. Interment will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn West Cemetery in Charlotte.
