Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife Michele Whitmore; children; Natalie Terry and Julie Moore (Dale); grandchildren: Alex Whitmore and Riley Moore. He is also survived by his father Stanley Whitmore, his sister Patricia Jordan and his brother Edwin Whitmore.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 4:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service, Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 337, P.O. Box 698, Pineville, NC 28134 in memory of Sgt. Whitmore.
