Mr. Tommy Milton Moore

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Northdale Baptist Church, 8104 Statesville Road, Charlotte, NC. Pastors McCray Holmes and Dennis Benton officiating. Visitation will be one hour (12:30-1:30 p.m.) prior to the service. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery with Military Rites.

Mr. Moore was born in Gaston County January 22, 1925, son of the late Vander Hoyt and Ellen Williams. He was a member of Northdale Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, was a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion. Mr. Moore retired after 25 years as a truck driver with Johnson Motor Lines and following that drove a tour bus for Sun Tours. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the YMS-196 Yard Mine Sweeper during WW II.

Surviving are his children, Jerry Moore and wife, Josephine of Rock Hill, S.C., Donnie Moore and wife, Susan of Charlotte, Michael Moore and wife, Kathy of Ocean Isle Beach and Sandy Keith and husband, Eidi of Hampton, Ga.; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bertha Moore, brothers, Dan Lamon and Bill Moore.
