Valerie Ann Lopez

Valerie was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 2, 1948, to Anne and Jim Klidonas. She was the oldest of two children. Valerie left this world on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

On September 17, 1989, Valerie found the love of her life, Ronald Lopez. On August 1, 2000, Ronald and Valerie married in San Jose, California followed by a celebration of love in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with family and friends.

Valerie and Ronald met later in life but were fortunate enough to share many wonderful years together. Ronald knew the first time he laid eyes on her that she was “The one.” To him she had grace, a caring heart, unwavering kindness but most of all she had beauty that went beyond skin deep, she was the loveliest woman he had ever seen!

Valerie will forever live on in the lives of those she touched over the years. Her family and friends were all so very important to her. Her face would light up whenever they would visit or call. Simply put, she adored them. She will fondly be remembered as a kind and caring woman with an infectious smile and an enormous enthusiasm for life.

It brought Ronald such joy and pleasure to see his beloved Valerie smile at him. He feels truly blessed to have received so much love and joy from his beautiful wife. And while his life will be forever changed, he knows that she would want him to find peace, happiness, and space in this world to enjoy life again.

Valerie stayed strong in her faith and was not alone during her last breaths. Her loving husband Ronald and loving son Robert sat by her side, holding her hand until the end. Those who will most profoundly be deprived of Valerie’s everyday presence are her mother Anne Klidonas of Jupiter Fl., son Robert Wirht, his wife Amanda, brother Tomas Klidonas of Lantana, FL. and grandchildren Serenity, Harleigh, Kaydence and Kaz. Valerie is preceded in death by her father James Klidonas. Valerie’s spirit is carried on by her loving husband, Ronald Lopez.

The services to honor and celebrate Valerie’s life will be held on May 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, located at 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28210.

Every LOVE story has its own magic. Mine was with Valerie, my wife, my confidant, my heart, my cherished soul. I’m flooded with memories and lessons from our journey. The past 35 years have been the most precious times of my life! I will always treasure every moment Valerie and I shared together. I have lost my wife, my support system but most of all my best friend. In all the years that I spent with Valerie; nothing was left unsaid. I LOVE YOU my darling and I always will. Rest in heaven MY LOVE.
