

Virginia was born on April 18, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio to Jeannette and Herb Beck. In 1954 she married her high- school sweetheart, Charles William (Bill) Ress, Sr. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last August. Together they raised five children, Beverly Ress (Rick Stack), Suzanne Ress (deceased)(Stefano Donadio), Charles Ress, Jr., Linda Foxworth (Mark), and Jennifer Brule. She earned her BA in History from Miami University while mothering four young children. She went on to earn a pilot’s license, a master’s degree in library science from Kent State, and a Master of Divinity from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. She served as a pastor in several churches in central Ohio throughout her career. Her hobbies ranged from international travel to the culinary arts to flying to knitting and jewelry making. She and Bill taught a cooking/travel class while living in Columbus.
Throughout her life, Virginia was artistic, creative, spiritual, intellectual, cultured and dynamic. Her life was an inspiration and a gift to us all.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Ress, her sister, Judy Hirsch, her four surviving children, ten grandchildren, Isabella Donadio (Hadrien Dykiel), Giulia Donadio (Walter DiLello), Gabe Resstack, Reva Resstack, Bob Foxworth, Oliver Foxworth, Claire Brule-Day (Eddie Day), Camille Brule, Tess Brule and Mimi Brule, four great grandchildren, Mandy, Missy and Ferdy DiLello and Luca Donadio, eight nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Davidson United Methodist Church at 10am, Saturday
