William John Fairman

William John Fairman, “Bill”, 85, of Charlotte, NC passed away surrounded by family on February 15, 2023. Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA and was predeceased by his mother, Frances Van Horn; his stepfather, Xanthus Van Horn; and sister, Joan Manderson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 65 years, Charlotte Howat Fairman; brother, Clyde J. Fairman, Sr.; children: William J. Fairman, Jr. (Michelle), Mark A. Fairman (Liz), Wendy Fairman Sweet (Gene), Beth Fairman Wilbanks (William), and Scott J. Fairman (Wendy); eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Charlotte. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bill’s Life Celebration on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00 pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 3200 Park Road, Charlotte, NC. Visitation with the family will immediately follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
