William Bruce Jones Jr.

Mr. Jones (Bill) was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 9, 1923. He was the son of Louise B. and William B. Jones, Sr. He was retired for the A.C. Nielson Co. of Dunedin, Florida where he was the Southeastern Regional Manager. He moved to Charlotte in 1961 where he met his best friend, Doris. They were married on October 13, 1962. Mr. and Mrs. Jones enjoyed going on cruises ad seeing the world. They enjoyed their life together at Aldersgate including her transition to live at Cuthbertson Village and Asbury. Mr. and Mrs. Jones were members of St. Stephen’s Unite Methodist Church.

Bill graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas College High School in Columbus, Ohio. He attended The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He completed a television engineering course at American Television Institute, Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Jones was the U.S. Signal Corp doing telephone and wireless communications for three years during WWII.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife Doris Dwyer Jones. Survivors include his brother-in-law James Morrison of Charlotte, NC and niece Tracey Morrison of Charlotte.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jones will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte beginning at 2:00pm.
